For over the years, we have been told and explained that the best way to deal with addicts of alcohol or drugs are using the 12-step recovery program. However, nowadays, experts have come up with a new alternative that is more effective in treating addicts, which is a non 12 step recovery program. Well, what is this alternative anyway? And why is it considered a new alternative that is more effective? The answer may lie on the essence of the treatment itself, which is to help the addicts recover their conditions by means of the most effective way. We know that in the famous method of 12-step recovery program, the addicts will require to attend group sessions to help them keep the addiction under control. Well, it doesn’t mean to ignore this method, but what if the addicts, for some reason, fail to attend the group session? Will the treatment work well, or, will it not work at all? Or will the treatment has to be restarted all over again? Well, for some reason, this is not effective in terms of the time and energy that has spent on it.
